Herzig applies the blue to the canvas in such a way that he creates his own surface structures through the different pastosities - similar to a monochrome color relief. Plant-like shapes such as palm trees and leaves can be recognized by scratching into the wet paint.

Herzig studied from 2002 to 2009 at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig. From 2005 he attended the specialist class of Prof. Neo Rauch.

The Leipzig painter draws his inspiration from nature. He transforms these impressions into colour-sensitive compositions, some of which are removed from context and object and assert their very own reality.

The painter's works have already been presented several times in exhibitions at renowned galleries around the world.
